The TOEFL iBT test is unlike other English Language exams you will have done before.

It is a computer-based exam in a university setting with questions on academic texts and campus scenarios. You will analyze texts, listen to lectures, and summarize conversations using a variety of language skills.

You do not pass or fail the TOEFL iBT test, you receive a score which determines your level.
Understand the scores
The TOEFL test contains 4 sections – reading, listening, speaking and writing. You receive a score for each section and your level is calculated according to the total number of points you receive.
Depending on the course, programme or University you have chosen, you will be asked to achieve a certain score, usually ranging from 70 to 110 out of 120, in order for your application to be processed.
